With a voice described by critics as "soulful, haunting," "soothing and accessible", Lia Menaker has emerged onto the singer-songwriter scene as a soulful storyteller, infusing edgy poetry and a theatrical flair into a musical blend of pop, rock, and blue-eyed soul.  Think Joni Mitchell meets Fiona Apple in an old cabaret club.

Lia was co-lead vocalist of folk/rock band Broken Darling from 2011-2013, during which they released their first self-titled EP. After the release, a reviewer from the Jersey Beat called her "an undiscovered star." In 2015, after 12 years of writing, yet mostly singing and recording back-up vocals for multiple bands, she released her debut solo album Animal Behavior, which was described as "like sitting at home with a nice bottle of wine next to the fire." Since the album release, she has performed in various venues in Northern Colorado and Atlanta, performed on KRFC 88.9 radio's "Live at Lunch," and was featured in Scene Magazine's 2016 Fresh Talent Showcase. She will be performing across the country from late Summer to mid Fall of 2017, and is in the process of recording new music, expected to be released in January 2018.
