Bio

With a voice described by critics as "soulful, haunting," "soothing and accessible", Lia Menaker has emerged onto the singer-songwriter scene as a soulful storyteller, infusing edgy poetry and a theatrical flair into a musical blend of pop, rock, and blue-eyed soul.  Think Amy Winehouse meets Fiona Apple in an old cabaret club.

Menaker spent years singing and recording back-up and lead vocals for bands, performing with artists such as Jason Crosby (Jimmy Herring & The Invisible Whip) and rock band Broken Darling. She branched out as a solo artist with album Animal Behavior. Since then, her vocals and songwriting have caught the eyes of critics, who have called her an "undiscovered star," "blessed with both a reflective mind and a sense of theatricality". Her music was recently licensed to national and international networks such as MTV, PBS, and Netflix, for us in their programming.

Menaker toured the U.S in 2017 with her solo project - an electronic-infused take on her album Animal Behavior. She performed at South by Southwest 2018 and recently toured throughout the Midwest and South to promote new singles 'Push Pull' and 'Blood On My Hands'.
